oh forgot to mention.

my car is on jackstands. taking a much needed break from her.  even though it feels like i haven't really stopped my corolla related activities.  well, definitely not going out to the mountains or breaking things, thats forsure.  that stress sucks.  been chillin in my dad's g35 while hes touring the middle east.

sold suspension first

then pulled out her motor (which makes #4 that shes blown!)

So many great memories with her.  mostly her testing my patience, and how thin i can stretch my wallet.  it's been a great run so far.  I've put her aside for the past few months (which only feels like it's been days).  don't know how to put it.  just an empty feeling not being able to drive her.  staring at her everyday as she sits on blocks on the driveway is depressing.  but also for me to reflect on why i put her down.

story of LEDs

been too long.

ok.  no more little hater.

i don;t remember my last real blog post.  but i guess it doesnt matter in the end.  because here i am, sitting on my kitchen table typing.  and hopefully i return here again after this to blog more.  time will tell.

For the past year, I've been obsessed with lights.  well more so past half year.  LEDs in particular, and turning lights on my car to LED.  really silly reading this, but it's true.  At first I did it for my own enjoyment, converted Lola's tails to LED after seeing Asayan-san's zenki coupe with cool LED tails, I just had to have a set myself.  Initially, I was down to buy a set.  There are hatch AE86 LED taillights, however no coupe version.  Some in Japan, but I didn't know how to buy at the time.
Asayan's Taillights

So went ahead and found out how to do it myself.  After hours, days of trying to figure out how all this stuff works (started knowing nothing about electrical junk) from random write ups, videos, and scouring dozens of pages of threads to find tidbits of info on how to go forward with my project, I finally figured it out.
and produced my own set of Zenki LED taillights.
Mission Success!

So since then, I've made a few other LED conversion for friends.  which has been great.  But i did run into a lot of unseen issues.  and this has been a real big hit to my morale since i quit my job to pursue this as a legit business.  (see, www.SOLO8Parts.com ).

Things have been smoothing out though.  taking care of a few orders and catching up on work for friends n stuff.  been cool.

getting tired..

here is my instagram feed if you would like to keep up with my photos

august 31st

update on my corolla:
http://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/1098229/blog/
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

no longer teenager.  finally hit 20 years old.  feels pretty good though, all of the "bad" I had doesn't have that lingering feeling anymore.  and finally getting to really pursue the goals that I've been holding off on.

those are:

  • moved out and becoming independent by around end of spring semester.
  • car done.  and not needing as much attention by end of fall.
  • good grades.
pretty simple.  but i also (try to) live each day to the most.  i've felt really held back by the situation i put myself under these past few years.  done poorly academically and not really smart financially.

man.  and my ADD keeps me from focusing when needed.  it's difficult.
sucks.

those last lines: stay hungry, stay foolish.

something i've been (trying to) live by also.  because how else am i going to achieve the feeling of self worthiness?
